Backup & sync

Once sync is enabled, G Kanban pushes your changes to the cloud automatically in the background — you don’t need to save manually.

Changes are batched and pushed a short moment after you stop editing, rather than on every keystroke. Board content (columns and cards) and account-level settings (flavors, labels, preferences) are synced separately behind the scenes, but it’s all transparent from the UI — you just see the sync status pill update.

Purely transient state — which card you have focused, which card is cut, which pane is active, whether a help overlay is open — is never synced. Only the content of your boards is.

If you sign in on a new device where the cloud already has boards, that cloud data takes precedence — it won’t be silently overwritten by an empty local board. If the cloud is empty and you’ve already opted into sync, your local boards push up to become the cloud copy.

Sync is a Pro feature — see Local vs. synced for what’s available on the free tier.
